Three Air Cadets from 209 (West Bridgford) Sqn turned in excellent individual performances for the Sqn at the South and East Midlands Wing Athletics competition.
Cadet Stephanie Willett finished third in her 800m race and Cpl Michael Disney finished second in the 400m. Sgt James Greenhalgh produced the Sqns best performance by setting a new record in the high jump of 1.73m.
209’s Sports Officer, Darren Stapleton said, “My favourite saying is it’s better to live one day as a lion than to regret a life time as a lamb. All 14 Cadets from 209 competed like lions at the Athletics event and Willet, Disney and Greenhalgh roared the loudest!”
Michael and James went on to represent the South and East Midlands Wing against other Wings at the Central and East Region Athletics competition. James again put in an excellent performance winning the high jump for the Wing and being selected to represent Central and East Region against the other five Regions.
