Donation From The Mayor
As one of her very last acts as Mayor of Rushcliffe, Councillor Marie Males presented 209 (West Bridgford) Sqn with a cheque for £65. The donation was to go towards a new trophy for the Squadron to present.
Cllr Males visited 209 Squadron with her husband and was given a tour of the building and then watched the Cadets tackling initiative exercises. After presenting the cheque Cllr Males said “I was very impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of both the Air Cadets and staff at 209 Squadron. Tomorrow is the last day that I hold the Office of Mayor and I think it is fitting at this time that I make this donation.”
